I am Hida, a multidisciplinary designer. This portfolio primarily focuses on my work in UX strategy and design.
My background
I have a strong background in visual communication (BA) and graphic design (MA), where I gained over 10 years of experience in creative direction and brand identity design.*
Embracing UX
During my MA studies, I became fascinated with the topic of web usability. In 2016, I joined the UX industry, where I have been working as a design strategist and user experience designer since.
As a result of my diverse experiences, I can own the design process end to end. I can fluidly move between ideation and UX to brand strategy and visual design.
Where do I like to work
I enjoy working with teams that reward collaboration over competition, are user-centric and welcome the diverse capabilities that each team member can bring into the mix.
My UX-related work experience
During my UX years, I have worked in both a large cross-functional team and small nimble and agile teams.
Insurance, finance, communication, and automotive, are among the industries I have created design solutions for.
Beyond UX, I have owned and operated my own company since 2010 where I have served a variety of start-ups and established businesses. Healthcare, entertainment, recreation, and municipalities are among the sectors I have served.
My Hands-on Skills
I am proficient in industry-standard software such as Sketch app, InVision, XD, Zeplin, Adobe CC apps, Mural, Miro, and learning Figma at the moment. I am open to learning and working with the preferred software of any team I work with.
More than a designer
I have more hats to wear when I need to. I am a fine artist and a part time design lecturer. I have had 2 solo art exhibits were I created the concept and the artworks, plus planned and curated the shows, and did the marketing work too. I have been a sales and people manager for a period of 4 years, and an art restorer and archival framer for a short while. I speak 2 languages, and try to pick up words from other languages.
I love neuroscience and its intersection with behavior and physiology. I love traveling and visiting art galleries and museums, cultural events, dance and fitness, and above all nature and sunshine.
